Pres. Bongbong Marcos To Attend the Coronation of King Charles III
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President arrived in the United Kingdom to attend the coronation of King Charles III.
After several decades, the people in the United Kingdom will once again witness a coronation of a British Royalty. King Charles III will be crowned as the British Royalty and successor of the late Queen Elizabeth II who was the British sovereign for decades before she passed away last September 8, 2022.
King Charles is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II with the late Duke of Edinburg Prince Philip. The leaders of different countries are expected to grace the coronation of the new King of Britain. One of those who will come to the grand event is Philippine President Bongbong Marcos.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, together with his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, has arrived in London for the coronation of King Charles III. They came from his 5-day trip in the United States.
Marcos Jr. met with a representative of the King and he also toured the Gatwick airport where they arrived. A dinner was prepared at the Buckingham Palace on May 5 and the King’s coronation was set the day after it.
According to the Philippine President, he is set to met with the Prime Minister of Britain but it is expected to be a “casual meeting” due to the hectic schedule for the coronation of King Charles III. The Philippine President expressed his belief that their talk will center on maintaining and strengthening the ties between the two (2) countries.
