PHILHEALTH BENEFIT FOR HEMODIALYSIS – Here is a guide on the case set by the health insurance agency and the coverage of the claim.
Millions of Filipinos are members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. or more commonly called PhilHealth. They remit a certain amount as premium to the health insurance agency either monthly or quarterly.
PhilHealth members who have updated accounts may turn to the government agency in times of hospitalization or medical situations like hemodialysis. Most of the benefit offers cover both hospital bill deductions and deductions to the professional fee or the charge of the attending physician. There are several hospitals, medical centers, and laboratories in the country that are accredited to the state-run health insurance institution.
Under the PhilHealth benefit for hemodialysis, the case rate is Php 2,600.00 per session. It covers both inpatient and outpatient procedures. According to the health insurance agency, there is a total of 90-day benefits and one session is equivalent to one day deduction. Multiple sessions may be filed under a single claim of the said PhilHealth benefit.
Furthermore, under the said PhilHealth benefit for hemodialysis, if the procedure is done during the hospitalization, the deduction from the total allowable sessions would be the total number of confinement. The said procedure is not counted under the Single Period of Confinement rule.
The hemodialysis coverage of PhilHealth is available in all the Health Care Institutions (HCIs) accredited to state-run health insurance agency.
