In the Philippines, millions of Filipinos are members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. More commonly called PhilHealth, it is a state-run health insurance agency where members pay either a monthly or quarterly contribution to keep their accounts updated.

If you have an updated PhilHealth account, you always have an entity to turn to in times of both emergency and non-emergency medical situations. You can claim an assistance during times of hospital admissions, surgeries, and other medical procedures.

PhilHealth has both inpatient and outpatient benefits for its members with updated accounts. One of the outpatient benefits is the PhilHealth benefit for radiotherapy. The case rate for this benefit is P2,000 per session using cobalt and P3,000 per session using linear accelerator.

According to PhilHealth, the claims for multiple sessions may be filed using one (1) claim for both inpatient and outpatient radiation therapy. There is a 45-day limit and one session is equivalent to one day deduction from the 45 allowable days per year. In case the radiotherapy was done while the patient is confined in a hospital, only the total number of confinement days shall be deducted.
