Cynthia Villar Might Charges Against Person Who Took Video Of The Incident

CYNTHIA VILLAR – Sen. Cynthia Villar is thinking of filing charges after a video of her berating a security guard at a Las Piñas subdivision went viral on social media.

A video of Senator Cynthia Villar berating a private security guard and his boss for putting barriers on a section of a road in Las Piñas that she had previously cleared of informal settlers caused a stir online. Villar, who was seen confronting two people for placing metal barriers on the road, received both positive and negative comments and reactions.

The six-minute, 32-second video was posted on JC DELA CRUZ WORLD on Facebook. Based on a report from Philstar, Cynthia stated on Wednesday that she is thinking about filing charges.

Sen. Cynthia Villar stated that she is “consulting” with her attorney about pressing charges against the unnamed person who recorded the incident from last Monday and shared it online, adding that she believed it to be malicious.

Villar claimed that the incident captured on camera showed her yelling at the security personnel and even pulling the arm of one of them. At one point, the politician used a homophobic slur to describe one of the guards as a man who appealed not to hurt him.

According to Villar’s account of what happened, the altercation started when she asked security to open a fence blocking the subdivision’s composting facility.

“I was talking to them to remove the gate because that composting facility is for the public. And they don’t want to. They’re arguing with me. But I guess they have plenty of security guards, I’m alone,” Villar said.

Villar adamantly denied having an outburst. “They’re just inventing that. There’s no outburst. I was just telling them to remove the gate because it’s for public use. It’s not for me. I don’t need that.”

Cynthia Villar continued to use a homophobic slur, telling the security guard she addressed that “there’s something wrong” with him.

When asked if she thought an apology was required, Villar responded, “I will go to court.”

  1. Hello po! Public official kayo. Hindi po kayo dapat balat sibuyas. What was shown on video was an unequal show of power, in your favor! A senator vs a security guard? A public official vs a private citizen? Grabeee ..
