There’s always something about the scent of grilled meats and sauces. We love Filipino-style BBQ but there’s a noticeable surge of Korean and Japanese restaurants in the country.

Yakiniku and samgyeopsal restaurants are just popping up everywhere.

And here are some of the spots we can find in the metro.

  1. Urameshi-ya Japanese restaurant
    This is in Makati loved by “carnivores”. They offer an eat-all-you-can buffet and different kinds of seafood like shrimp, snow crabs, scallops, and oysters. They also have wagyu spam and spicy sausages.
  2. Miyazaki Gyu
    This place is known and loved for wagyu. This is found in BGC and their wagyu is imported from Miyazaki, Japan. This place also serves Grade A Miyazaki beef as steak tartare, soba, and sushi.
  3. Shaburi and Kintan Buffet
    Their buffet is a combination of shabu-shabu and yakiniku. The guests can choose from four options: Regular Buffet, Kintan Buffet, Premium Kintan Buffet, and Special Wagyu Buffet – for the Kintan buffet. While for the Shaburi buffet, they can choose from Regular Shabu, Special Shabu, Shaburi Wagyu, and Special Wagyu.
  4. Tajimaya Yakiniku Restaurant
    This place originated in Chiba, Japan that is loved for its premium wagyu sets and eat-all-you-can buffet. This restaurant has MOA, Rockwell, Alabang Town Center, and Vista branches.
  5. Yakiniku Wasshoi
    This is located at The Fort Strip in BGC that apart from quality meats, they also serve set meals, sushi, sashimi, agemono (fried food), and donburi. They also have skewers and different kinds of seafood.
