Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, April 14, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.0 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental today, Friday, April 14, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Davao Oriental. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.0.
The earthquake that struck Davao Oriental, today, Friday, April 14, 2023, at 07:00 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Tarragona.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Oriental was located at 05.53°North, 128.08°East – 247 km South 47° East of Tarragona with a depth of focus of 033 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. No intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded by the quake-monitoring agency as per its release.
