Gov. Degamo’s Wife Reacts To Cong. Teves’ Online Attendance to Senate Investigation
DEGAMO’S WIFE – Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo reacted to the “virtual attendence” of Congressman Arnie Teves to the Senate probe.
Investigations are ongoing over the death of the late former Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo. The Governor died from an attack lodge by armed men wearing pixelated uniforms at his compound in Pamplona last March 4.
The suspects entered the gate of the compound and lodged their motive. The Governor, his ally, and several civilians who were at the Governor’s house to ask for help were left dead by the incident. Gov. Degamo’s wife, Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo, called for justice from the national government over the death of her husband.
Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnie Teves‘ name was implicated in the case about the killing of Gov. Roel Degamo after one (1) of the suspects named him as the alleged mastermind behind the plot. The Congressman denied the accusations against him.
Teves was out of the country when the incident transpired. His travel clearance expired last March 9 but he refused to go home citing his concerns for his safety. The House of Representatives suspended him from his congressional seat for 60 days.
This Monday, April 17, there will be a Senate probe over the death of Gov. Roel Degamo. The camp of Cong. Arnie Teves confirmed that he will attend the hearing “virtually”. To this, Gov. Degamo’s wife gave her reaction citing that it is unfair.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo stressed that all of them who will be attending the Senate investigation will be joining physically and will be spending their time, effort, and money to be there but Teves will be allowed to attend online.
“Hindi po ba napaka unfair naman po yata niyan? He has to be physically present po if he wants to be heard just like us,” Mayor Janice said.
Based on the report, Gov. Degamo’s wife further expressed that Cong. Arnie Teves must come home. She stressed that the move to allow him to attend the investigation virtually is like spoiling him and he can say anything he wants to say since he is not physically present.
“He has to come home po. That is a very cowardly act po,” the Pamplona Mayor said.
