Driver Arrested for Stealing P73.6 Worth of Valuables from Korean Employer

Police authorities arrested a driver for allegedly stealing P73.6 worth of valuables from a Korean national employer.

Muntinlupa City police apprehended a driver on the basis of an arrest warrant issued in response to a complaint filed by a Korean national. The defendant is accused of stealing P73.6 million in jewels and personal goods from his boss in San Pedro, Laguna.

Menard Soler, 37, of San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City, was arrested, according to Muntinlupa City police. According to Soler’s Korean businessman boss, Sungchan Hong, 46, the suspect was employed as a driver on March 26.

He did, however, find the heist at his Ayala Alabang Village home, as well as Soler’s carnapping of his Range Rover. Almost two weeks later, Muntinlupa police apprehended Soler in the parking lot of a hotel in San Pedro, Laguna, on the basis of an arrest warrant from the previous year’s theft case.

Based on the report, Soler was arrested on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by Pasay Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) Presiding Judge Vladimir Berla Serohijos Daral of Branch 165, with a P10,000 bail suggestion. Several valuables belonging to the Korean boss were found.

Upon Soler’s arrest, the stolen P50-million Richard Mille wristwatch was recovered; a Rolex watch worth P2.5 million; 1 AP watch (P3 million); 1 Cartier bracelet (P1 million); 5 pieces of Gold Trump playing cards (P10 million); 1 Dragon bracelet (P1 million); 1 Dupont lighter (P500,000); 4 G-Shock watches (P80,000); 1 gold dragon figurine (P2 million); 2 gold watches (P3 million); 1 silver watch (P500,000); and Apple watch worth P50,000.

Soler is accused of violating Republic Act 10883. (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016). According to the report, the suspect is now being held at the Muntinlupa Police detention facility while awaiting his commitment order from the Muntinlupa court.
