Malacañang Announces Suspension of Gov’t Work on April 5, 2023
Amid Holy Week

WALANG PASOK – Malacañang Palace declares the suspension of government work on April 5, 2023 – 12 pm onwards.

On Friday (March 31, 2023), Malacañang made an announcement regarding the suspension of work in all government offices beginning at noon on April 5 in observance of Holy Week.

The Presidential Communications Office stated that the work suspension will commence from 12 p.m. onwards to give employees enough time to travel to and from different regions of the country.

The PCO clarified that this is in accordance with the regular holidays on April 6 (Maundy Thursday) and 7 (Good Friday).

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. assured the public that the government is ready to assist and provide the necessary support throughout Holy Week.

Filipinos must observe this religious holiday and spend time with their relatives and loved ones. The government understands the significance of this time of year and strives to ensure that everyone can fully participate in it without difficulty.

“We have to make everybody, make sure that everybody’s comfortable… that they can get to where they want as quickly as possible. Sa palagay ko naman nakahanda naman kami,” Marcos said.

The government is committed to making sure that public services remain uninterrupted despite the suspension of work, so everyone can enjoy a meaningful and peaceful Holy Week.

Thousands of Filipino Catholics are anticipated to return home for the long holiday weekend.
