Church Leaders Defend Pastor Who Demands “Ford Raptor” as Birthday Gift

Church Leaders Defend Pastor for Allegedly Asking “Ford Raptor” as Birthday Gift

The Church leaders of Jesus Christ River of Life Church defended their pastor who allegedly demanded a “Ford Raptor” as a birthday gift.

The Jesus Christ River of Life Church leaders released a statement in response to social media criticisms of the church and Pastor Romeo Nuñez. The pastor is currently facing a sexual abuse charge in court.

The church leaders denied a claim that Nuñez had demanded a Ford Raptor as a birthday gift from them, which was made in a Facebook post by a netizen named Zamora Cha. The post has since gone viral.

In addition, church leaders clarified the complaints brought against their church activity, which reportedly asked each leader to pay P2,000. They said that no one was forced or persuaded into participating in their ministry because it is a personal decision and a selfless gesture.

According to the church leaders, they made the statement in the aim of putting an end to the defamatory attacks on their church. They did not, however, address Zamora Cha’s allegations of sexual abuse in her post.

Pastor Nuñez was arrested on March 27 on charges of acts of lasciviousness and had paid a P36,000 bond to avoid detention. The statement from the church leaders serves as their response to the criticisms being hurled against their church and their leader.
