Coco Martin went through rejections because of doing indie films
Kapamilya actor Coco Martin recalls the rejections he went through because of his “hubadero” roles in indie films.
Before making it to the mainstream, Coco started acting in independent movies. The first film that he did was Masahista with director Brillante Mendoza in 2005. Eventually, he was able to penetrate the mainstream media.
However, before he achieved the success that he has now in the entertainment industry, he was rejected several times.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pang-Masa, Coco Martin shared that ABS-CBN inquired about him. He was considered to be part of the love triangle in the series featuring Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao.
The Batang Quiapo actor said that Direk Brillante was so excited about that because finally, he will be on TV which would give him a more stable source of income. However, this project did not push through for him.
This was followed by another rejection. A few months after, a new inquiry reached their camp. In that project, he was supposed to play the gay best friend of Judy Ann Santos. Coco said that he was willing to do that or whatever role just to have a job but then again, he was rejected for the same reason.
Coco admitted that those rejections hurt him because he has high regard when it comes to what he did in indie films.
