Herlene Budol will not disown her nickname “Hipon”
Kapuso actress Herlene Budol sees no problem in being called “Hipon” even after establishing her name in showbiz and beauty pageant.
Herlene was first known as “Hipon Girl.” Hipon is a Pinoy slang term being used to a person with a fit and admirable figure but not so admirable when it comes to the face.
When she was starting, people would love to call her “Hipon” and it was quite normal to have funny names as a comedienne. Now that she is an actress and beauty queen, she was asked if she is still okay being called “Hipon,” based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
“Ako, papayag pa rin pong ‘hipon’ ako dahil si Hipon, dito nakaipon,” Herlene Budol said. She also said that through this nickname, she was able to pursue a career in showbiz. Herlene now has a new series Magandang Dilag.
“Ngayon binubuhos ko yung buong oras ko sa pagte-taping ko dahil ito po yung audition ko sa GMA na sana makaulit ulit, sana magustuhan ng mga taong nanonood sa ‘kin,” she added.
Previously, Herlene said that she will never forget that she is Hipon because this nickname is part of her success in the entertainment industry. Despite the success that she has now, she will not forget her humble beginnings.
In a previous article, Herlene shared that she is planning to join another pageant. She was advised by her manager Wilbert Tolentino to join the Miss Grand Philippines 2023. Herlene said that just like joining Binibining Pilipinas, she will follow the advice of her manager because she saw the positive result after joining the national pageant.
