Herlene Budol talked about her moniker
Binibining Pilipinas 2022 candidate Herlene Budol said that she will never forget the she is “Hipon Girl.”
Herlene started her stint in showbiz with the said moniker. She became a household name when she started her hosting stint in Willie Revillame’s Wowowin. From that, she was able to explore more opportunities in the entertainment industry and now, she has started her pageant journey.
Whatever she will achieve and wherever her path may lead, Herlene said in a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, that she will forever be “Hipon Girl.” “Kasi hindi lang naman siya bansag eh, minahal ko yung name na ‘yun. Saka kasi kapag mahal mo, hindi mo ile-let go. Iki-keep mo siya,” Herlene Budol shared.
She also said that without “Hipon Girl,” there will be no Herlene who is now an actress and someone who is bringing tears and laughter to the viewers. The former Wowowin host also said that through Hipon Girl, there is Herlene who is a Binibining Pilipinas contestant now and might represent the Philippines to the Miss Grand International pageant.
In a previous article, Herlene admitted that she is not the typical beauty pageant contestant. It is quite unusual for comediennes to enter the world of pageantry but Herlene broke the norm. She also asked pageant fans to give her a chance.
The beauty queen aspirant also said that just like showbiz personalities, beauty queens also give entertainment but she can give a twist to this.
“Ang beauty queen naman nag-e-entertain din. Bakit hindi natin dagdagan ng twist na pasayahin din [ang mga tao]. Hindi lang basta [hinahangaan] ka, tinitingala ka. Lagyan mo ng twist, lagyan mo ng smile ang mga tao sa tuwing makikita ka nila,” Herlene Budol said.
