Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Abra, March 17, 2023

EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.5 magnitude quake in Pilarm Abra today, Friday, March 17, 2023.

Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Abra. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.5.

The earthquake that struck Abra, today, Friday, March 17, 2023, at 05:30 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Pilar.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Abra was located at 17.39°North, 120.54°East – 007 km South 61° West of Pilar with a depth of focus of 007 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. No intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded by the quake-monitoring agency as per its release.
