The name of Cong. Arnie Teves is dragged into the case over the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo last March 4. One of the suspects who are under the custody of the police authorities named him as allegedly the mastermind behind the plot for the death of the Governor.
Degamo was attacked at his home in Pamplona on a Saturday. Then, there were a lot of civilians at his home. Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo, his wife, said that her husband was working on a Saturday when he was attacked.
The Governor was rushed to the hospital but he died. His ally and several civilians who were also shot during the attack died and several others were left injured by the tragic incident.
Three (3) suspects were arrested by the authorities just five (5) hours since the death of Gov. Degamo. The national government assured the families of the victims and the people of Negros Oriental of justice over the death of those who died during the attack.
The police authorities determined that the plot to kill the Governor started as early as December 2022. Prior to being named by one of the suspects as the alleged mastermind, Cong. Arnie Teves released a video and expressed that he received an information that he will be pinned down on the death of his political rival. It was taken abroad as he flew to the United States for his treatment.
