Liza Soberano Issue: Careless Exec Has Revelations

Amid the issues involving Liza Soberano, Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh’ made this revelation.

LIZA SOBERANO – Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh revived past speculation amid the loud buzz of an issue involving Liza Soberano.

The rebranding and new career path announcement of Liza Soberano made a loud buzz online. It is not because of her choices but because of how she laid down the stories with her past management to justify her decision.

She sounded ungrateful to some people. For them, her words implied that she was not happy all those years despite the fact that it was her past management that made her the actress that she is now.

It seems like she was not happy with them at all despite the success she claimed from the opportunities given to her.

And now, amid all the issues, Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh, the CEO of her new management, revealed something about her.

Last Tuesday, March 7, Oh shared something in an event bringing up a claim about the actress being offered to audition for the Michelle Jones role in Spiderman: Homecoming. This was denied by the actress back then but Oh confirmed this recently.

Soberano received an offer to audition for the role but was prohibited to do so because of her contract with ABS-CBN.

In his words, Liza was not allowed and this is because she needs to do things that she has always been doing.

He added, “Now imagine, this wasn’t like as if she was marketed but they reached out, that’s what I mean by, it’s self-evident when you go out there. People are looking for Filipino talent.”

Her 10-year contract, which to him was “unheard of anywhere else in the world”, prevented her to do projects with other outfits. This is accordingly very different from theirs.

“I’ve sat down with executives and they’re like, ‘Holy crap. Did Liza just come from a 10-year contract which she signed at 12 years old? Isn’t that illegal? With the option to renew at exclusively the manager’s discretion? Which is standard practice of any major management company [in the Philippines]’, that’s why,” he said.

This 10-year-contract matter for him is the reason why bigger stars and creatives could not make it internationally. They are prevented by the legal implications of this type of contract “not because they are not talented enough” based on a report from Inquirer.
