Jopay Paguia, Mayonnaise Share the Stage during Lucena Concert
JOPAY, KUMUSTA KA NA? – Actress-dancer Jopay Paguia-Zamora and Mayonnaise finally met in a concert held in Lucena City, Quezon Province.
One of the most popular Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs in the Philippines is Jopay which is originally sang by Mayonnaise. It is undeniably one of their most popular songs. The Filipino alternative rock band’s frontman is Monty Macalino.
The said Pinoy song was the original soundtrack of Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez’s movie, Ngayon Kaya. It was released in 2022 and it hooked a lot of fans. Undeniably, the movie made the song even more popular.
Aside from the movie, TikTok videos of people lip syncing to the song Jopay hooked more avid listeners of the song and added to its popularity. Recently, Mayonnaise finally met the actress-dancer to whom the song Monty Macalinao wrote the song for, Jopay Paguia-Zamora.
During an episode of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, the Mayonnaise frontman revealed that it was in 2003 when he wrote a song after seeing the actress-dancer in Eat Bulaga’s Lenten special. Based on a report on GMA News, she was supposed to be in the music video of the song but she was really busy then.
Meanwhile, recently, Mayonnaise and Jopay Paguia-Zamora finally met and even shared the stage during a concert held in Lucena, Quezon Province. Based on the report, the concert was held as part of the 20th anniversary tour of the alternative rock band.
