PAGASA Says Amihan to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Skies Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of Luzon and Visayas.
On Wednesday (March 1, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that northeast monsoon or amihan will be affecting Luzon and Visayas.
“Sa kasalukuyan itong amihan ang nakakaapekto dito sa may Luzon at pati na rin sa may Visayas,” weather specialist Veronica Torres said
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
Amihan will also bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, the rest of Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.
The monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.
“Generally kung mapapansin natin magandang panahon yung inaasahan natin although yung cloudy conditions magpe-persists sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon and Visayas pati na rin sa Marinduque at Oriental Mindoro,” she added.
The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao as well as the rest of the country will be moderate to rough, according to the weather bureau.
