MTRCB on Toni Fowler “MPL”: “It would be given X-rating classificaition”

MTRCB Gives Statement Against Toni Fowler and Freshbreed’s “MPL”

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) clarified that the “MPL” song by Toni Fowler has no rating from the board.

The internet sensation recently released a music video for her new song “MPL,” which features Freshbreed. The aforementioned music video has recently gained popularity due to its rude and wild portrayal of ladies while they are inebriated.

Many netizens expressed their dissatisfaction with Toni’s video, especially since it is available to youngsters and minors who use YouTube. Toni’s pregnant co-stars in the music video, as well as her younger sister, were also mentioned.

According to a News site article, one of the people who appeared in it, Ms. Papi Galang, was quoted as saying that the song ‘MPL’ and its music video were rated as STRONG PARENTAL GUIDANCE (SPG). The MTRCB, on the other hand, refuted the claim and stated that Fowler’s song had not been evaluated by the board.

The MTRCB issued a statement on the music video after receiving several complaints about its profane nature over the weekend. The MTRB also stated that if the board had been allowed to review the music video, it would have received a “Not for Public Display” or “X” rating.

“We appeal to Ms. Galang, to be circumspect in her statements, and for news organizations such as Bandera to practice responsible journalism by fact-checking their reports before publication, as the public may be led to believe that the MTRCB had given its highest allowable rating for airing content on television to the said material,” the board said.

The authority of the MTRCB extends to movies, television programs, and radio programs broadcast on television. It has no authority over internet streaming sites such as YouTube and others.

The MTRCB did warn the public, however, that they can use the report or flag option on YouTube and other online platforms to flag or report information that they find improper or hurtful to their sensitivities.
