PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough to Bring Scattered Rains Over Visayas and Mindanao on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2023)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of a low-pressure area will bring scattered rains over Visayas and Mindanao on Valentine’s Day.

On Tuesday (February 14, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area, amihan, and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Trough of Low-Pressure Area will be affecting Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Luzon.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres reported that the LPA has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 to 48 hours. She said that a gale warning has been raised in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Occidental Mindoro, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also warned the residents in the affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over extreme Northern Luzon will be rough. The eastern section of the country will have moderate to rough seas. The remaining parts of the archipelago will experience slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
