Guide on the Primary ID & Documents in the Philippines
PRIMARY ID PHILIPPINES – Here is a list of the documents and IDs that are considered primary in the Philippines.
In making a transaction like applying for a loan, enrolling in a course, getting a car, buying a house, booking a ticket, and several others, you will need to present valid IDs. There are IDs that are considered “primary” while there are also those that are considered “secondary”.
Most often, companies in the Philippines would either ask at least one (1) valid primary ID as a proof of identity. The primary IDs bear the photo, address, and signature of the person. In the absence of a primary ID, firms would usually ask at least two (2) secondary IDs. Thus, a lot of people prefer presenting a valid primary ID.
Primary Valid ID and Documents in the Philippines
- Philippine Passport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
- IBP ID issued by Integrated Bar of the Philippines
- PRC ID issued by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC)
- GSIS eCard issued by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS)
- SSS Card issued by the Social Security System
- OFW ID issued by the Department of Labor and Employment
- Voter’s ID issued by the Commission on Elections (Comelec)
- Senior Citizen ID issued by the Office of the Senior Citizen
- OWWA ID issued by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration
- Driver’s License issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO)
- GOCC and Government Office IDs issued by government agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forced of the Philippines (AFP), Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR), and the Department of Education (DepEd).
- Digitized Postal ID issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation
