Teacher Earns Praises Over “Drop your phone, Pick a snack” Policy During Exam

A lady teacher goes viral after implementing “Drop your phone, Pick a snack” policy to her students during exam.

A Facebook user named Flerida C. De La Cruz has shared photos of her “Drop your phone, Pick a snack” policy inside the classroom. The post goes viral and earns praise from the online community.

De La Cruz is a teacher at Jose P. Laurel Sr. High School. Flerida is teaching Filipino 9 to her students and started to place two huge boxes in the room. She urged her students to leave their phones in the box and pick a snack of their choice.

The 39-year-old educator came up with the idea to encourage the students to do their best during the examination. She wanted her students to get high grades using their own knowledge.

Pangalawa para ipagkatiwala nila sa akin ang kanilang cellphone at wag itong gamitin during exam,” the educator said.

The kind-hearted woman is a class adviser and the first class teacher of her advisory class. Some of her students were not eating breakfast, so she decided to provide a free snack for them.
