PAGASA Releases List of Philippine Tropical Cyclone Names for 2023
TYPHOON NAMES 2023 – The state weather bureau PAGASA has released the list of Philippine tropical cyclone names for the year 2023.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has released the names of the tropical cyclones that may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this 2023.
The possible tropical cyclone names start from A and usually end in Z. the weather usually prepares 4 sets of typhoon names in rotation. Each set has 10 reserved names if the number of tropical cyclones exceeds 25.
Annually, around 20 tropical cyclones enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. About 10 of them intensify into typhoons, which cause floods, landslides, and devastation over some parts of the country.
Typhoons usually hit Eastern Visayas, Bicol Regions, and Northern Luzon. Meanwhile, the southern section of Mindanao is usually free from tropical cyclones.
Recently, PAGASA released the names of tropical cyclones names for this year.

6. Falcon
7. Goring
8. Hanna
9. Ineng
10. Jenny
11. Kabayan
12. Liwayway
13. Marilyn

20. Tamaraw
21. Ugong
22. Viring
23. Weng
24. Yoyoy
25. Zigzag
