Camp of Deniece Cornejo Wants Court to Reverse Bail Grant to Vhong Navarro
DENIECE CORNEJO – The camp of the model wants the bail grant to Vhong Navarro reversed and a new warrant of arrest against the actor.
The legal battle between Vhong Navarro and Deniece Cornejo seems to be far from over. The actor was previously jailed for more than two (2) months over the charges filed by the model.
In September 2022, Vhong voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after a warrant of arrest against him was released. He was detained at the NBI Detention Facility for around two (2) months.
In November, he was transferred to Taguig City Jail. His camp filed for a petition for bail and bail hearings were held prior to his transfer to Taguig where the charges against him were filed.
In December 2022, Taguig Court granted Vhong Navarro‘s petition for bail and allowed him to post P1 million bail for his temporary liberty. The actor’s camp immediately posted bail and he was able to go home to his family and spend the holidays with them.
However, based on an article on Pep, the camp of Deniece Cornejo wants the bail grant to Vhong Navarro reversed and a new warrant of arrest to be released against the Showtime host. They filed a motion for reconsideration with motion to inhibit in Branch 69 of Taguig Regional Trial Court.
According to the article, it is stated in the motion filed by the camp of Deniece Cornejo their desire for the judge handling the case to be inhibited and moved to other Courts. They believe that there was bias or the judge committed a mistake in allowing Vhong Navarro to post a bail.
Furthermore, in the said motion, Cornejo’s camp stressed that Navarro’s camp was not able to file their evidence on the set schedule thus he should have not been allowed to post bail.
