Deniece Cornejo asks Taguig Court to Vacate Vhong Navarro’s Bail

Deniece Cornejo Appealed to Taguig Court of Cancel the Bail of Vhong Navarro

Model Deniece Cornejo appealed to the Taguig City court to vacate the bail granted for Its Showtime host Vhong Navarro.

She has requested a Taguig court to overturn its decision to give bail to Navarro and to keep the r6pe case she filed against him from being heard. Cornejo filed a move for reconsideration with a motion to obstruct Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 69, presided over by Judge Loralie Datahan.

Deniece Cornejo Vhong Bail

Based on the report, on December 5, the Taguig RTC Branch 69 issued a ruling and granted Navarro P1 million bail. On December 6, he was released from the Taguig City Jail Male Dormitory.

Cornejo claimed in her application for reconsideration that Navarro failed to file the formal offer of evidence, as required by the Honorable Court, not once, but twice, on 11 and 18 November 2022, respectively. She went on to say that the Taguig court erred in concluding that the contradictions in the private complainant’s affidavits and testimony were too significant to disregard.

The private complainant never stated that she was not raped, according to Cornejo’s appeal. The private complainant remained silent because she was afraid of the stigma of a rape victim, she was afraid that her family would no longer be able to rely on her, and she was fearful of going up against a giant like Vhong.

“Furthermore, she only had the attempted r6pe that happened on 22 January blottered because she wanted to consult with her family and she scared how they would take the news and how the effect will be to the public, knowing that she was raped by the Accused,” said Cornejo.
