Mon Confiado talked about his ‘Nanahimik Ang Gabi’ co-star
Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 Best Supporting Actor Mon Confiado shared his thoughts on his Nanahimik Ang Gabi co-star Heaven Peralejo not winning the Best Actress award.
The said movie is directed by Shugo Praico under Rein Entertainment and also features seasoned actor Ian Veneracion who got the Best Actor trophy in this year’s MMFF. In an interview after the Gabi Ng Parangal, based on the article in PEP, Mon and Ian wanted Heaven to win the Best Actress award.
“To be honest, medyo may panghihinayang talaga,” Mon said. It could have been a big blessing for the three of them to get the acting awards. However, Heaven shared in her Instagram post that being nominated is already a big honor for her.
Mon Confiado also shared what happened during the awards night after he and Ian Veneracion were awarded. “Grabe ang hawakan namin ni Heaven kagabi, kasi na-pressure siya. Nanalo ng best supporting, nanalo rin si Ian, ang next na ia-announce. Ano ba ang mangyayari?” the actor shared.
He added that it would be nice if the three of them in the same movie would get the major acting awards. If this happened, Mon said that it would be a good vehicle for them to promote their movie.
Then, the seasoned actor shared encouraging words to Heaven. “Sabi nga namin sa kanya, ‘Tatlumpung taon na ako sa industriyang ito, maraming beses na akong natalo,” he said.
Mon added that it also depends on the jury’s taste but it does not mean that one is not good if he or she did not satisfy what the jury is looking for. The actor also pointed out the positive reviews that Heaven received from viewers and she is indeed a revelation in this film.
Being veterans in the industry, Mon said that he and Ian saw that Heaven’s acting in their film is lesser than what they gave. The praise that Heaven got for her performance is not equivalent to any awards. Mon Confiado also stressed that the real acting award is the feedback from the viewers
