Grab PH Launches Program for Protection & Extended Assistance for Drivers

GRAB PH – Grab Philippines registered around 1,000 of its drivers to the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, and PhilHealth.

In the Philippines, most of the people who are employed in the private sector are members of the Social Security System. More commonly called SSS, it is a social insurance agency that offers a lot of benefits and services like loans for its eligible members in times of calamity and other financial needs.

Many people working in the public and private sectors are also members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), a state-run health insurance institution, and the Pag-IBIG Fund. The former provides medical coverage in terms of hospital emergencies while the latter offers loans such as multi-purpose, calamity, and housing loans to its eligible members.

However, there are still a lot of people who are not members of SSS, Pag-IBIG Fund, and PhilHealth. Recently, Grab PH took the initiative to create a strong social safety net for its drivers. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it registered around 1,000 of its drivers to the aforementioned state-run institutions.
