Jeepney Driver Touches Hearts of Netizens for Using Cellphone as “Dash Camera” During Trip
A jeepney driver using a mobile phone as his “Dash Cam” goes viral online and touched the hearts of the netizens.
Dashcam or dashboard camera is an onboard camera that continuously records the view through a vehicle’s front windscreen and sometimes rear or other windows. Some dashcams include a camera to record the interior of the car in 360 degrees inside the camera.
Videos can be timestamped tamper-proof, a process known as trustworthy timestamping, to guarantee that recorded video files are not altered after they have been captured. It can be used as evidence when unexpected incidents occurred.
A Facebook user named Sherigen Belmis Orlanda has shared the video footage of a jeepney driver who was using his mobile phone as a dash cam to film his trip. The video goes viral after it was posted online.
In the video, it can be seen that the jeepney rider is driving his vehicle to bring his passengers to their point of destination. However, the driver is just using his cellphone as a dash camera.
The jeep driver probably can’t afford to buy a dash camera for his trips. He used his mobile phone to record his trips as protection and evidence in case of accidents.
