Based on the report, the recipients of the rice allowance include the workers in the national government, state-owned universities and colleges, uniformed personnel, and state-owned and controlled corporations. Workers of the local government units (LGUs) may also receive the said assistance as to the AO. The workers are entitled a 25-kilogram rice assistance.

The aid will be given in the form of rice to government workers and those who are working in the gov’t agencies. In the order released and signed by the President, it is stated that such move will hit both – the giving of assistance to government workers and managing the “effects of the current socio-economic challenges” in the households of the beneficiaries.

However, those government employees who are under a contract for a limited time and those who are pain on piecework basis are not entitled to the rice allowance. Student workers and apprentices are also not covered by the assistance.
