Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about Earthquake Today December 10, 2022 in Davao Oriental
EARTHQUAKE TODAY DECEMBER 10, 2022 – The Phivolcs recorded a 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Davao Oriental today, Saturday.
Following the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that jolted Northern Samar yesterday, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Davao Oriental. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 5.6.
The earthquake today, December 10, 2022, in Davao Oriental was tectonic in origin. It struck Governor Generoso at 04:01 a.m.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake today December 10, 2022 that hit a part of Davao Oriental was located at 06.24°North, 126.27°East – 051 km South 26° East of Governor Generoso with a depth of origin of 061 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there are no damages expected from the said quake but there may be aftershocks. According to the agency, the following intensities were recorded in these areas:
- Intensity IV
- Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental
- Bansalan, Davao del Sur
- Malapatan and Malungon, Sarangani
- Intensity III
- City of Davao
- City of Mati, Davao Oriental
- Alabel, Glan, and Kiamba, Sarangani
- City of Koronadal, Polomolok, Tampakan, and Tupi, South
Cotabato - City of General Santos
- Intensity II
- City of Kidapawan, Arakan, M’lang, Makilala, and Pikit, Cotabato
- Maasim, Sarangani
- Surallah, South Cotabato
- Columbio, Sultan Kudarat
