Cristy Fermin Recalls Deanna Wong’s ‘Snubbing’ Video

It can be recalled that on December 1, 2022, a netizen posted a video showing the Choco Mucho Flying Titans volleyball team allegedly snubbing fans who approached them while visiting Boracay. As seen and heard in the video, the fans approached the team while boarding their shuttle, but most of them merely kept going, except for Bea de Leon, who gave them a single nod.
The video of the girls quickly became viral and elicited various reactions from fans and celebs, including Kuya Kim Atienza. The tv host vented his frustration with what he witnessed via an FB post on December 4, 2022.
Following the backlash, the Choco Mucho management defended its players in a social media post. Later, Deanna Wong’s video went viral where she can be seen waving and smiling to greet her fan.
The volleyball player was on vacation with her girlfriend Ivy Lacsina in El Nido, Palawan and the two met a fan while riding a tricycle.

In ‘Cristy Ferminute’ on YouTube, Cristy Fermin recalled Deanna Wong’s controversial ‘snubbing’ video. This was after she discussed Aiko Melendez’s viral post about fame with Romel Chika.
The veteran columnist could not help but compare Wong to another volleyball star Alyssa Valdez.
According to Cristy Fermin, both she and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz were witnesses to Melendez’s kind and good-natured attitude toward her fans. She said the veteran actress remained kind and accommodating despite her mood or if she was feeling sick that day.
“Saksi kami diyan ni Ogie Diaz kung gaano kabuti at kabait ang puso ni Aiko Melendez sa mga tagahanga at kababayan natin. Si Aiko, kahit puyat, kahit wala sa mood, kahit masakit ang ngipin, kahit may dinaramdam, binibigyan niya ng pagpapahalaga ang mga lumalapit sa kanya. Kumakaway siya ng malayuan, pumapayag siyang makipaglitrato, makipag-selfie,” Cristy said.
She eventually remembered the viral video of Wong allegedly ignoring volleyball fans. “Idagdag natin dito yun kay Deanna Wong, yung Volleyball player, na inirereklamo,” Cristy said.
Cristy Fermin then compared Wong to Valdez, sharing how accommodating Valdez was when it came to her fans. She said, “Ako talaga, hindi ko tuloy maiwasan na hindi ikumpara siya sa mas matagumpay at mas magaling na si Alyssa Valdez diba? Si Alyssa po, grabe, kahit anong mangyari, kahit pagod na pagod na, kahit masakit na ang tuhod at braso sa kapapalo ng bola. Hindi po siya nawawalan talaga ng respeto at pagmamahal sa mga tagahanga.”
