Vhong Navarro Still Adjusting In Life After Release

Court grants Vhong Navarro and his camp’s petition for bail and after release, he’s now adjusting.

VHONG NAVARRO – A Taguig court granted the petition bail of Vhong Navarro and here’s an update about him after his release.

In an order dated December 5, 2022, Judge Loralie Cruz Dataman of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 signed the bail for his provisional liberty to P1 million of Showtime host Vhong Navarro.

To recall, last September, Navarro surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after receiving arrest warrants for charges filed by model Deniece Cornejo. Last November 16, he was transferred to a jail facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

The charges are connected with the incident that happened in 2014. The model accused him of r4ping her inside her condominium unit in Taguig. This particular case is non-bailable but the court found inconsistencies in the testimonies of Cornejo which allowed Vhong to have his temporary freedom.

What he has is just temporary freedom, his trial will start  on Feb. 16 next year, the first trial date and will last for 21 months or until 2024. 12 other dates from March 9, 2023 up to April 11, 2024 were also stated.

To recall, Navarro had repeatedly denied that he did what he was accused of.

And now that he is free again, his lawyer shared that he is still adjusting to the changes his freedom brought. Moreover, he is still in disbelief that he was released.

“I even advised him na kailangan mo na mag-take ng melatonin para makatulog. Kasi nga, alam mo yung feeling na gigising ka na wala ka na dun. So, naiintindihan natin yung ganung sitwasyon ni Vhong na nag-a-adjust talaga siya,” Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque said in a report from PEP.

For now, he will be resting and spend the Holiday season with his family. He is also planning to return to Showtime for his hosting duties but his comeback to the noontime show might happen next year.
