Court Allows Vhong Navarro To Post P1 Million Bail for Temporary Release
VHONG NAVARRO – The lawyers of the Showtime host spoke on behalf of him who they said was in tears upon seeing the decision of the Court on his bail petition.
The legal battle between Vhong Navarro and Deniece Cornejo has come a very long way. An arrest warrant was previously released by the court against the actor-TV host over the charges filed against him by the model.
In September, Vhong surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation. He was detained at the NBI Detention Facility for more than a month.
In November, Vhong was transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Taguig following the release of a commitment order for his transfer to Taguig where the charges against him were filed. Initially, the actor and his camp were worried what awaits him at the city jail.
BJMP assured the camp of Navarro that they will ensure his safety while he is under their custody. A petition for bail was filed and hearings were held prior to the transfer of the actor-TV host to Taguig BJMP.
Recently, the Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) released its decision on the bail petition. The Court allowed Vhong Navarro to post P1 million-bail for his temporary liberty.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vhong Navarro did not opt to give an interview as the actor-TV host is “tired and wants to spend time with his family”. It was his lawyers, Attorney Bon Arcilla and Atty. Maggie Abraham, who spoke on behalf of the Showtime host.
According to the lawyers of Vhong Navarro, he was in tears upon seeing the decision of the Court on his petition for bail. He was fetched by his wife, Tanya Bautista, at Taguig City Jail where he was detained for more than two (2) weeks before the bail petition verdict was out.
