VHONG NAVARRO – Kapamilya host and actor, Vhong Navarro, finally posts bail worth Php 1 million and claims temporary freedom.
In a previous article, the Taguig City Regional Trial Court issued a decision to allow It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro to post bail for his temporary freedom. To recall, he is currently detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Male Dormitory due to the charges that model Deniece Cornejo regarding the incident in 2014.
He petitioned to post bail to be with his family this year’s Christmas and New Year. And the recent decision released favored his side.
“Viewed in light of all the foregoing, and taking the evidence presented in the bail hearings as a whole, this court is not convinced at this point, that there exists a presumption great leading to the inference of the accused’s guilt,” the court said.
The decision also noted inconsistencies in Cornejo’s affidavits and these were too material to ignore. She made claims about something she is not sure about. Her actions back then which were “preening at herself and giggling” also present inconsistency with the claim of trauma or someone who underwent a painful ordeal.
And in an update based on a report from PEP, the release order presented to the warden was signed by Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan.
“You are hereby directed to release from custody accused FERDINAND “VHONG” HIPOLITO NAVARRO for having filed the necessary cash bond in the amount of ONE MILLION PESOS (Php1,000,000) under Official Receipt No. 9022573 dated 06 December 2022, which cash bond is APPROVED by this court for his provisional liberty,” states the document.
In the same document, the next hearing for his case is indicated. His wife Tanya Bautista was the one who fetched him. She expressed that it is going to be a blessed Christmas because he is with them.
During his release, inmates were chanting: ‘Vhong Navarro! Vhong Navarro! Vhong Navarro!’
It is also evident that he lost some weight during his incarceration.
Regarding the accusations against him, Navarro had earlier denied these.
