PAGASA Says Shear Line and Easterlies to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line and easterlies will bring rainshowers over parts of the country.
On Saturday (December 3, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the shear line will affect Extreme Northern Luzon while the Localized Thunderstorms will affect Mindanao.
The easterlies will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, and the southern portion of Palawan.
It will also bring rain showers over the National Capital Region (NCR) and the rest of the country.
The Shear Line / Easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, and Aurora.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.
“For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, easterlies naman o yung mainit na hangin na galing sa Karagatang Pasipiko ang patuloy na nakaka-apekto. At ang easterlies na ito ay posibleng magdala ng maulap na kalangitan at kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat, sa ilang bahagi ng eastern section ng Luzon at Visayas, pati na rin dito sa southern portion ng Palawan, kasama na diyan ang Kalayaan Islands,” Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.
The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the seaboards of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
