Curious Chef Elicits Reactions Online Over Controversial Vlog “P500 for 1 week pwede nga ba?

A curious chef goes viral and elicits reactions online due to his controversial vlog “P500 for 1 week pwede nga ba?.

A Facebook user named Chef Gelo Guison has shared the video footage of himself trying to budget P500 for an entire week. The video quickly circulates online and garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the video, it can be seen that Guison is trying to imitate the post of a netizen named Brian Angelo Sim Young who was able to budget his P500 for an entire week. The latter said that P500 is enough for a single Filipino.

The Kakampink chef bought severe grocery items such as:

  • Marby Bread – P69.75
  • Tang – P37.00
  • Nova – P59.90
  • Payless Mami – P35.00
  • Payless Extra Big – P89.50
  • Mixed Veg – P48.00
  • Argentina Corned Beef – P34.75
  • Century Tuna – P34.00

All grocery items cost P407.90. The chef clarified that he was not able to buy all the items on Brian’s post because the receipt is blurry. Guison said that the uploader successfully budgets P500 for an entire week.

However, the vlogger explained that there are no enough nutrients from those goods. He described it as “Empty Calories” because it can fill the stomach but it does not contain proper nutrients.

“Tiis tiis? Ang tagal na nating nagtitiis di ba pwedeng yung mga binoto natin ang tanungin natin kung ano po baa ng ginagawa niyo para pababain yung presyo at pagaanin ang buhay ng mga Pilipino, anyway yung sinusweldo niyo naman galling sa tax namin e,” Guison said.
