Bea Alonzo Says She Has No Plans Of Becoming A Spanish Citizen
BEA ALONZO – Filipino-British actress Bea Alonzo said she has no plans of becoming a Spanish citizen.
In a vlog entry last May, Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo shared that she was apartment-hunting in Madrid, Spain. Bea also showed the 6 apartments that her real estate broker showed her.
The 35-year-old celebrity, later on, disclosed that she went for the 2-bedroom apartment in Chamberi. During a recent trip to Spain, Alonzo shared that she finally showed her mom Mary Anne Ranollo her apartment.
On October 26, Bea Alonzo uploaded IG snaps of their touching mother-and-daughter moment when visiting their apartment in Madrid. It came with a caption, “I was finally able to show my mom our apartment in Madrid and she was so happy!”
After purchasing a home in Madrid, the prominent actress shared that she’s now a legal resident of Spain.

During her recent “Start Up PH” press conference in Cebu City, Bea Alonzo happily said that she got her Golden Visa in Spain. She said, “Galing ako sa isang mahabang bakasyon. 26 days, almost a month. Kakauwi ko lang this week from Europe. The reason why I went there was because I wanted to get my Golden Visa to Spain, so am now a resident of Spain.”
According to Schengen Visa website, a Golden Visa is a “residence visa issued to a non-EU national who intends to make a significant investment in the Spanish economy.”
Anyone who purchased real estate in Spain for at least 500,000 euros (or approximately P30 million) is entitled under the Residency by Investment program to travel visa-free within the Schengen Zone of the European Union. Additionally, her mom will also benefit from this.
“’Yung Spanish government kasi, if you have a certain amount to invest sa real property nila, you will be granted a Golden Visa which means you are automatically a resident,” she said.
Bea is now able to work freely in Europe as a citizen. She is now qualified to apply for citizenship after a few years, albeit she is not compelled to stay in Spain. The actress quickly clarified, however, that she will not apply for Spanish citizenship.
“After two years, you can apply for citizenship which am not gonna of course, but, at least, there is that option.”
