Isko Moreno is officially part of the movie trilogy about the Marcoses
Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno will portray the character of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino in the movie Martyr or Murderer written and directed by Darryl Yap.
The said movie is the sequel to Maid in Malacanang, the first installment that Direk Darryl did for his trilogy about the Marcos family. A few days ago, the controversial director teased that she now has an actor to play Ninoy.
In the comment section of his post, fans of MiM shared their guesses. On November 18, Direk Darryl finally announced that Isko Moreno will portray the character of Ninoy Aquino. The director shared a photo of the actor-turned-politician holding the MoM script.
Direk Darryl even shared a humorous caption for this post: “Isko Moreno as Ninoy Aquino [yellow ribbon emoji]. The Filipino is worth dying… INSIDE [musical notes emojis].”
Previously, Direk Darryl shared a portrait of his Ninoy character who seemed to look like Phillip Salvador but some thought that it was Herbert Bautista. Both veteran actors are supporters of President Bongbong Marcos.
In the comment section of Direk Darryl’s post, netizens expressed excitement about the sequel. However, on Twitter, where the name of Isko and Ninoy trended, the former presidential candidate received criticisms.
There were those who said that Isko Moreno will not give justice to the character of Ninoy Aquino while some said that the former Manila Mayor is indeed a “trapo” or traditional politician. Here are some of the tweets against Isko.
Following Direk Darryl Yap’s announcement about the vital character in his movie, he addressed those people who are criticizing Isko Moreno. “Galit na naman kayo, di pa kayo magpasalamat, ang gwapo ng gaganap,” the writer-director said. He included the hashtag “count your blessings” in his post.
