Dead Politician Gets Landslide Victory from U.S. Election
DEAD POLITICIAN – The late former Democrat official Tony DeLuca won the recent election in the United States by a landslide victory.
Different elections are held in different nations every year. Recently, in the United States, nationwide legislative elections were held. However, in a rare case, one of the candidates who has been one of the government officials for years died before the poll.
The then-Representative Tony DeLuca was serving Pennsylvania as its state lawmaker when he decided to run for re-election. He was 85 years old at the time set for the midterm poll.
DeLuca represented a Pittsburgh suburb in the lower house state lawmaking body. However, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, last October 9, a few weeks before the midterm elections which was held in Tuesday, then Rep. Tony DeLuca died.
DeLuca passed away due to lymphoma, a type of cancer. According to the report, it was too late to remove the name of the dead politician off the ballot of the midterm legislative elections in Pennsylvania, United States.
The name of the dead politician was not removed off the ballots. The counting showed that won by a landslide victory in the rececently-held midterm election. He got 86% of the votes in the elections with 98% of the ballots counted.
Based on the report, a special election will be held to determine who will get the seat of the late former Pennsylvania Representative Tony DeLuca. According to Pennsylvania Democratic Party, while they greatly mourn the death of DeLuca, they are proud about the trust of the voters to him and his commitment values as the reelection results showed.
