Robin Padilla shared that one of the people who supported him was Boss Vic del Rosario
Senator Robin Padilla revealed that Viva’s Boss Vic del Rosario advised him to just sing during the election campaign.
Robin is the number one senator in the 2022 elections. Many were surprised by the number of votes he got since it is his first time running and he already aimed for a national position. After the election, the actor-turned-politician has been expressing gratitude to people and groups who helped him.
One of the people who extended support for Robin was Boss Vic. In a celebration for the 41st anniversary of Viva Entertainment, based on the article in PEP, the husband of celebrity vlogger Mariel Padilla shared that after he was told by former President Rodrigo Duterte to run for Senator, he went to head of Viva Entertainment.
“Sabi ko, ‘Boss, paano ba itong gagawin ko? Kailangan kong manalo. Ayoko naman matalo,'” Robin Padilla asked the entertainment executive. Boss Vic gave him a realistic advice.
“Isa lang ang sabi ni Boss Vic: ‘Huwag kang magpanggap na pulitiko. Kailangan ipakita mo yung tunay na Robin Padilla, walang kaplastikan. Huwag kang magpakamatalino. Ipakita mo lang na ang puso mo, nasa pelikula. Huwag kang gumawa ng kahit anong mahabang speech. Kumanta ka lang, solved ‘yan!’” the lawmaker shared.
So, this was what Robin did throughout the campaign and he said, “Tinalo silang lahat dahil sa ‘Wonderful Tonight. At ngayon, I feel wonderful tonight!”
Meanwhile, during the same event, Robin Padilla shared that it was Boss Vic who discovered him. The entertainment executive became Robin’s mentor also. For the Senator, Boss Vic is the sultan of Pinoy films and the one who believed in him.
Initially, Robin was only doing “kontrabida” roles but it was Boss Vic who gave him a break and the chance to become a “bida.”
