PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (October 31)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Paeng is already moving PAR exit while a new tropical depression has entered PAR.
On Monday (October 31, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Storm Paeng will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Paeng was last spotted 320 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan. It has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kph while moving 10 kph in a west-northwest direction.
Paeng is expected to leave the country’s vicinity on Monday afternoon but heavy rains and strong winds are expected in several areas. The weather bureau hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in the following areas:
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- La Union
- Pangasinan
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- Abra
- Mountain Province
- Benguet
- Nueva Vizcaya
- western portion of Cagayan
- western portion of Isabela
- northern, western and southern portion of Nueva Ecija
- Pampanga
- Bataan
- Tarlac
- Zambales
- western portion of Bulacan
A new tropical depression has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The weather disturbance is named Queenie. It was last spotted at 975 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Queenie has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph while moving 15 kph in a southwest direction.
“Itong tropical depression ay nasa loob na po ng ating PAR at tatawagin natin siyang Queenie,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the western seaboard of Visayas will be moderate to rough. The gale warning over most seaboards of Luzon remains due to the northeast monsoon and Paeng.
