Security Guard Wearing PNP Uniform Arrested after Evading Checkpoint

Real police officers arrested a security guard for allegedly unauthorized wearing the uniform of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

After being discovered in possession of an unauthorized firearm while donning a tactical block PNP outfit, a security guard was sentenced to prison. According to the report, he was apprehended after eluding the police in Malabon City who were conducting a check point.

Mark Joseph Pelayo, a 35-year-old security guard and resident of Tondo, Manila, was the suspect who was apprehended, according to Malabon police head Col. Albert Barot. Around 3:40 in the morning, Sub-Station 3 staff members, the TMRU, and a SWAT squad stopped the suspect on a red Honda XRM motorcycle while performing a checkpoint along Del Pilar Avenue.

The TMRU and SWAT personnel chased the suspect after he reportedly continued riding his motorcycle toward Barangay Tinajeros rather than halting. However, At Barangay Peak, he was cornered by the authorities at a gas station.

When searched, a cal was confiscated from the suspect. 9mm pistol loaded with a magazine and ten bullets tucked in his waist with a black tactical holster. According to the report, he shows nothing when asked to produce the pertinent documentation for the aforementioned pistol.

He was consequently taken into custody by the police. Charges against the suspect include RA 10591, Illegal usage of Uniform and Insignia, and Resisting and Disobeying a Person in Authority (Article 151 of RPC) (Art. 179 of RPC).
