Miss Grand International President Reacts After Losing 2 Million Followers on Instagram

MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL – The Thailand-based beauty pageant has lost almost 2 million Instagram followers after the coronation night.

The Instagram account of Miss Grand International pageant loses almost two (2) million followers, from 6.5 million to 4.5 million, really quick. This is less than 24 hours after Brazil’s Isabella Menin was named the new winner of the Thailand-based beauty pageant.

The coronation night of Miss Grand International 2022 was held in West Java, Indonesia, this Tuesday night, October 25, 2022. The Philippines bet Roberta Tamondong finishes in top 20. The PH has not won yet the MGI title.

Netizens are enthusiastic in different parts of the world, not only in the Philippines, sending a candidate to MGI every year. Based on a report from PEP, from 6.5 million, the followers of the MGI Instagram account are now only 4.5 million.

Based on the comments on the MGI’s IG account, Vietnamese people largely unfollowed MGI’s account after Miss Grand Vietnam Doan Thien An failed to enter the Top 10. On Miss Grand International’s Facebook, it can be seen that in some of its posts there are many angry emojis from Vietnamese people.

Pinoy fans were also saddened because Roberta Tamondong only made it to the Top 20. Due to this, netizens’ “cooking show” posts against Miss Grand International and its founder and president, Nawat Itsaragrisil, have come out again.

This Wednesday, October 26, Nawat admitted that Miss Grand International has lost many followers on Instagram. He also said that he discovered that most of who unfollowed were Vietnamese.

“I did check MGI Instagram already all unfollowed are Vietnam. Thanks for unfollow [Vietnam flag emoji] We always respect and fair to everyone and every countries,” he said.
