U.S. Pres. Joe Biden Speaks on Possibility of Running for Re-Election
JOE BIDEN – The United States President was asked about the possibility that he will run for U.S. president again.
It is quite a common situation in governments in different countries across the globe that a single politician has served different positions throughout his or her career. Truth be told that what is more unusual is when a public servant only had one (1) political term then left the field.
In the United States, before becoming the country’s 46th president, U.S. Pres. Joe Biden has served as the 47th vice president of the nation from 2009 to 2017. He was the vice president during the term of former U.S. Pres. Barack Obama.
Prior to it, he was also part of the Senate. He representated Delaware from 1973 to 2009. He was the sixth youngest senator in the history of U.S. politics.
Apart from being one of the youngest to have become a senator in the United States, U.S. Pres. Joe Biden also holds the title of being the oldest person to have assumed the U.S. presidency. He was turning 78 years old when he became president.
While the next election is still more than a year away from now, there are already queries on whether or not Mr. Biden will run for re-election. Recently, speaking to the reporters, he spoke about the matter.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, U.S. Pres. Joe Biden admitted that it is his intention to run for the presidency again in 2024. He stressed that he has yet to make a formal decision and they still have time to think about it.
The U.S. President will be turning 80 years old soon. When asked about the stand of first lady Jill Biden, he stressed that his wife thinks they are doing “something very important and that I shouldn’t walk away from it”.
