La Union Provincial Government’s Female Workers to Get 2 ‘Period Days’ Every Month

LA UNION, PHILIPPINES – The female workers of La Union Provincial Government will get two ‘period days’ every month.

Women usually suffer from bleeding, nausea, terrible cramps, and other inconvenience during their menstrual period. Most of them just wanted to take rest during their period to ease the pain.

On Tuesday (October 18, 2022), La Union governor Rafy Ortega-David announced that the Menstruation Privilege Executive Order no. 25 has been signed. The Menstruation Privilege Executive Order of La Union becomes official.

The Executive Order aims to give female employees of the La Union provincial government two period days every month. Lady workers can avail of “a work-from-home arrangement” during the two-period days.

Ortega-David said that lady employees will also receive menstrual kits aside from the period days. The non-monetary benefits can really help female government workers.

Pirmado na!

Hawak ko na ang pirmadong Menstruation Privilege by virtue of Executive Order No. 25, series of 2022, Kaprobinsiaan.

With this EO, mayroon nang two-day per month privilege na makukuha ang female employees ng Provincial Government of La Union on their period days where they can “avail therefore for a work-from-home arrangement.” Aside from this, we will also provide menstrual kits in every office.

I hope that with this EO, we can spread awareness and be kinder to our female employees lalong-lalo na sa kanilang period days.To all our female employees, this EO is my hug to each of you. Sa ating administration, patuloy tayong makikinig sa pangangailangan ng ating mga empleyado at ng buong Kaprobinsiaan.
