PAGASA Says Trough of LPA Will Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the extension of a low-pressure area would bring rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (October 10, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The trough or extension of a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area inside the Philippine area of responsibility has been last spotted 450 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. It may develop into a tropical depression within 48 hours.

The Trough of LPA / Frontal System will bring cloudy weather with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Cagayan.

The Localized Thunderstorms will bring Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Abra, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions.

The other parts of the country are expected to have generally fair weather with possible isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening.

“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng bansa partikular sa Luzon, inaasahan natin ang mas maaliwalas na panahon pero again posible pa rin ‘yung isolated o pulu-pulong pag-ulan pagkidlat at pag ulog sa hapon at sa gabi,” PAGASA weather specialist Ober Badrina said.

The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the seaboards of Northern Luzon will be rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
