Cops Arrest Man for Stealing Valuables & Service Firearm of Police Officer in Taguig City

TAGUIG CITY – A man has been arrested by the authorities after stealing the valuables and service firearm of a police officer.

Nowadays, robbery has been one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in various regions all around the world. Some criminals have no choice but to commit crimes due to lack of job opportunities.

The Philippine government is implementing stricter policy but the crimes continue to exist behind the knowledge of the authorities. The rate of criminality continue to increase despite the stricter rules and regulations.

Service Firearm

The closed-circuit television (CCTV) captured the suspect heading in the direction of the police officer’s home. He was seen leaving the residence a short while later, but this time he was carrying a small bag.

The police authorities arrested the suspect identified as Richmond Lumampaw during a follow-up operation. The cops recovered the stolen items including the policeman’s 9MM revolver, wallet, ID, and ATM card.

The Philippine National Police – Southern Police District director Police Lt. Col. Kirby Kraft said that the suspect waited for the victim to leave the house. he said that the CCTV played an important role, which helped them to solve the case and arrest Lumampaw.

In a separate incident, the Makati police found two revolvers with a caliber of 38 inside Romero Salve’s house. His neighbors reportedly told the police that he always comes out from his home carrying a gun. The villagers were alarmed by his action.

Both firearms are unregistered, and ballistic testing will be done to see whether they have been used in any previous crimes. Both suspects in the two robbery incidents refused to give a statement.
