Filipino Spring Roll or Lumpiang Shanghai Featured in TasteAtlas

Lumpiang Shanghai once again prove it’s name as one of the best street food dish according to food website TasteAtlas.

These Filipino spring rolls, also known as Lumpiang Shanghai, are filled with minced pork and vegetables like carrots, wrapped in a thin crepe, and then deep-fried. Lumpia, which is essentially similar to Chinese egg rolls, was brought to the Philippines by Chinese immigrants from Fujian, China.

Based on the report of ABS-CBN News, TasteAtlas audience gave the deep-fried spring rolls made in Philippines 4.9 out of 5. Roti canai (flat bread) claimed the top spot even they have same score with Shanghai.

Along with other items, TasteAtlas’ list featured Indian paratha (flatbread), Vietnamese banh mi, and Japanese karaage (deep-fried dish, typically chicken).

Shanghai is the top-rated Filipino food in TasteAtlas together with Sinigang (soursoup) and tocino (sweet cured pork). The report also mentioned that, the Filipinio love shanghai as it is served in every occasion in Philippines from it’s crispy texture and it’s savory taste that surely will drive you crazy.

As of this writing, (stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables such chicken, pig, shrimp, celery, carrots, onions, garlic, and cabbage) was rated 4.3 out of 5 stars, placing it at number 11 on the list of “most popular” and “best-rated” noodle dishes. Canton finished in the top 33, followed by Bihon at 35, Palabok at 37, and Lomi at 51.

There are lots of Filipino foods mentioned in different food website and it is just showing that Filipino foods can be a pride and sooner will be known on different countries all over the world.
