Are Jeric Gonzales and Rabiya Mateo together again?
Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales reacted to the rumored reconciliation between him and beauty queen-turned-actress Rabiya Mateo.
Early this year, Jeric and Rabiya confirmed their relationship after months of speculations when their sweet photos circulated online. Their relationship became quite controversial as it was alleged that they would have frequent misunderstandings.
The controversial photos of Jeric with another guy also affected the relationship he had with Rabiya. Eventually, rumors surfaced that they already called it quits. However, there was no confirmation from the Kapuso stars regarding this.
Recent rumors surfaced that Jeric Gonzales and Rabiya Mateo got back together. In a recent episode of the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast, based on the article in PEP, the actor was asked about the real status of his relationship with the Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
“After what happened, of course, the controversies and the issues, nag-stay kami na friends, good friends,” Jeric said. When asked if they got back together, the actor said that it is difficult to say that they got back together.
“Mas gusto lang muna namin sabihin na we’re good friends and we support each other and we still have a good relationship as friends dito sa showbiz,” he explained.
Jeric also shared that their breakup was not a bad one. They did not fight about this. He said that they just wanted to keep this private. He said that it is possible for ex-couples to be friends because this is what happened between him and Rabiya.
The actor added that there was no major conflict between them that led to an argument. It just so happened that they have different priorities and they became very busy. “Pagka nagkaroon pa ng ibang isyu sa showbiz ang hirap, e, maraming taong nakikialam, maraming issues na darating sa kanya, sa akin,” Jeric Gonzales added.
The Start-Up PH actor stressed that in their situation, it was more important to just focus on their work but they are still okay with each other.
