Vhong Navarro Lawyer Insists Deniece Cornejo Tries To Extort Money

The legal counsel of Vhong Navarro has this claim against Deniece Cornejo

Atty. Alma Mallonga, the lawyer of Vhong Navarro claimed that the rape complaint that Deniece Cornejo filed was her way to extort money from the Kapamilya star.

The issue between Vhong and Deniece was revived after the Court of Appeals contradicted the decision of the Department of Justice to junk the rape case against the It’s Showtime host. CA ordered the Taguig City prosecutor’s office to file the case against Vhong.

The actor-host is now detained at the National Bureau of Investigation. Amid this controversy, Vhong’s lawyer said that they are prepared to fight this legal battle. Atty. Mallonga also said that Deniece is just trying to extort money from her client, based on the article in PEP. She stressed that Vhong Navarro is the victim.

“Siya po yung biktima. Siya po ay dinetain, binugbog, pinagbantaan, kinukunan ng pera,” the lawyer of the actor-host said. Then, Atty. Mallonga cited the blotter report that Deniece Cornejo stated back in 2014.

“Di ba, dinala siya sa police station at sinabi, ‘Pang ano lang ito, pang-leverage para hindi ka magsumbong. Ilalagay natin ‘to na ikaw ay nag-confess na meron kang ginawang attempted rape. Pero buburahin natin ‘yan pag nagbayad ka, huwag kang magsusumbong,” the lawyer narrated.

She added that Deniece, along with Cedric Lee, used this to cover up what they did to the actor-host. Vhong filed illegal detention and grave coercion cases against Deniece and Cedric.

Atty. Mallonga also insisted that the Kapamilya star was just forced to sign the blotter report in which Deniece stated that there was “attempted rape” that happened. However, people close to Vhong encouraged him to fight and so he filed cases against Deniece and Cedric.

The lawyer of the actor-host also stressed that the CCTV footage showed that there was no rape that happened. “At yung sinasabing rape ni Deniece ay hindi puwede, dahil wala pang isang minuto nung umalis siya sa elevator [papunta sa condo unit ni Deniece], pumapasok na si Deniece [sa elevator], nakangiti, humahagikhik nang konti, kalmado. Walang paghahalay na nangyari,” Atty. Mallonga said.

Vhong Navarro’s lawyer added that after this, Deniece’s statement changed. She claimed that there was rape that happened on January 17 and January 22. The lawyer said this is contrary to human behavior. She pointed out how can a person meet with her rapist on January 22 when she was already raped on January 17.
